2009 Started Right

A couple of friends sponsored the annual New Year's Eve Chinese Dinner. We were just too busy getting everything ready to dig out the camera (sorry all you pro bloggers!) Ginger Beef, Cashew Chicken, Chicken Balls and Lemon sauce, Beef and Broccoli, Black Bean Chicken and Pea Pods...yummmm! Thanks Kevin.

It was truly amazing to start the year off right with good food and great friends(Danielsons, Johnsons, Keslers, Vermunts). We all laughed ourselves silly learning the secret leftover uses of champagne and vodka at the end of Air Canada flights. No wonder Sue's hands are so soft and her rings always sparkle brightly!

Kevin, Sherry & Jeff enjoyed a quick trip to see Grandma and Grandpa Kay in Edmonton, playing games, family dinner, more games, and working on the puzzle together. Minus 35 degrees celcius was too cold for our little diesel Jetta (with no inline heater). Thankfully it warmed up slightly to -32 and AMA was able to get us going. Once the car started we kept it running and headed home.

Joel enjoyed New Year's Eve with his cousins in Lethbridge and his 2nd family, The Hill's in Medicine Hat.

I accomplished my personal goal of two pajama days in a row and finishing three novels borrowed from Karen, before heading back to school yesterday, Wednesday, January 7th.

Kevin is using all his energy to get everything in ship-shape around the house! We hope some "paying" jobs open up for him soon besides snow-shoveling...

I'm so happy to be back in classes and learning. Monday is my official graduation from Bow Valley College. If I put the camera in the kitchen hopefully someone will remember to take some pictures!!

I was excited to get back into the "treadmill" routine and work out and ...the treadmill is "not in service"... so I pulled out the skipping rope and weights! Skipping definitely gets the old ticker tocking!! I hope I can soon get past the basics and onto the fancy skipping moves on you tube... Cheers to all of you in your DIY improvements for 2009!!
