Thursday, 14 June 2007 Andrew's Update

Dear loved ones,

I love being here in douala and i am even getting used to the key board its really fun here last week we taught 20 lessons ya it is sweet. Its hard though because elder mol abd i are forgetful and we havent put enough emphasise on going to church with our investigators we have a few solid ones who are just growing so fast and others that arent growing so fast but thats normal i love our ward we have a ward missionary with us all day every day. The food here ya a,mazing the other day i ate some merceral or however it is spelled (fish for all those who couldnt tell because my spelling is way off hahah its the french i swear, the other funny thing is that i had several people tell me the would let the other one tell me about awards and stuff, a word for next time its better to tell me and hear it a few times than it is to have to guess hahah. Ok so this wonderful week has been ful of beautiful rain everyday ya it is really nice that its warm rain and everyone looks at us like we are crazy but hey i am and its so much fun the roads are crazy there are no lines and everyone just drives taxis are everywhere and its cheap to take them well realitively elder mol and i walk everywhere there are also motorcycles people take everywhere its so cool they are like pesonal tawis ya so cool also there are these big vans that drive around and thats the cheapest i hear anyways you wouldnt believe how many people they can fit in one of those ahahha ya its so cool i love it. One we saw had about 30 and one person hanging out the door hahah i love it they try to get the most in its cool. Everyone here tu toi’ whiwh means its all informal i love it they are so kind they are really beautiful people, oh another thing is there are albinos ya that was strange the first time for me/ ok so to the spiritual stuff im almost completely adjusted to this schedule here so my studies are better and better the other day i was studing faith and the scripture that popped to my mind was alma 32 ya and later it was the perfect one for the person we were teaching, his name is charles he is a night guard and an anglophone who speaks very good french and english and loves the word of God he understood it really well wow. Also the lord helped me find 2 Nephi 29 and the use of that for explaining the need for the book of mormon and latter day prophets sure sometimes its hard because they are like well i dont believe that book but not alot here they really listen and contemplate sure sometimes they are to nice to say they arent interested and sometimes well lots of the time they just want to hear the word haha its alright i guess if we teach well with the spirit the message will be portrayed the way the lord wants and they can accept or reject no big deal hahah. Ya i laugh alot here because its nice, ok so there is this condiment called pima which is way spicy! I love it to death you have it with the fish and manioc batons which i love to death also anyways i have alot to eat the other day because i told the lady i love pima so she gave me alot and my companion alot then my companion put a ton on thefish anways it was so good but the body didnt like it at first cuss i was wattering the eyes so bad the nose was running and i was sweating so bad wow it was good though! Look up pima on the internet cuss i dont know whats in it to tell you haha. We have great investigators one more story there is one named joseph he is solid the other sunday i didnt catch what was going on so he explained it all in sunday school the thing is he reads so fast and understands it so hes tight and loves to laugh the only concern he has is a living prophet, he is waiting for an answer but the other day when i was studying prayer in mosiah 5 and luke 18 he then asked about prayer and used a parable that my companion had studied he knows the scriptures very well ya i feel the guidance of God every day. I love being here i love the people the food the rain the sweet thunder thats way louder than home and longer oh its just so nice, sure not having water or clean clothes sometimes is a downer but hey they dont care if you smell and i may come home with gross habits like picking my nose infront of people or farting because here its normal haha take care i love you all and hope the best.
